Wisconsin winner used spray foam featuring Solstice® Liquid Blowing Agent for its superior thermal performance

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J., June 6, 2017 — Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced today that Eric Gladson of Integrity Plus Insulation in Ogema, Wisconsin, is the Grand Prize winner of the “Hit a Foam Run” promotion. Gladson wins an all-expenses paid trip for two to the Professional Baseball Game of Stars in Miami, July 2017 ($7,000 estimated value).

The “Hit a Foam Run” promotion centered on Honeywell’s Solstice® Liquid Blowing Agent (LBA), the material that causes closed-cell spray polyurethane foam (ccSPF) to expand and enables its excellent insulating performance. Since the promotion began last October, 12 winners each received a $500 prize for submitting eligible projects into the sweepstakes. Gladson’s entry was selected from the pool of Grand Prize entrants who qualified by submitting information and up to three photos about a recent project of any size that utilized ccSPF formulated with Solstice LBA.

“We worked with our systems house Lapolla and chose ccSPF with Solstice LBA because of its great thermal performance,” said Gladson. “High thermal values were essential for the project, and the ccSPF achieved that, along with maximized comfort in the building. I was also impressed with the improved yields, how great the walls and ceilings looked, and the overall performance. My team and I were all really pleased and plan to use ccSPF with Solstice LBA on more projects.”

Solstice LBA has an ultra-low global-warming-potential (GWP) of 1 and is an ideal replacement for high-GWP hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) blowing agents used in ccSPF systems. Because of its improved foam and environmental performance, a growing number of systems suppliers are offering ccSPF formulated with Solstice LBA.

Solstice LBA is nonflammable (ASTM E-681) and is not a volatile organic compound per the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It is listed under the U.S. EPA’s Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) Program and is also registered under the European Union’s REACH program. Solstice LBA has been produced in the U.S. at Honeywell’s world-scale manufacturing plant since May 2014.
