Eliminating ozone-depleting materials continues to be a key environmental focus for Honeywell. As countries phase them out in accordance with the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, we have invested in both manufacturing capacity and additional R&D to help customers meet commitments to this global effort.

In addition, regulatory-driven changes are underway that may impact high global warming potential (GWP) materials and drive higher performance foam insulation materials. There are also market pressures that favor the use of ultra-low GWP, nonflammable, high performance foam blowing agents like our fourth generation Solstice Liquid Blowing Agent (LBA) and Solstice Gas Blowing Agent (GBA).

Solstice LBA has a GWP of 1, 99.9% lower than HFCs it replaces and equal to C02.  Solstice GBA has a GWP less than 1. Both are nonflammable (ASTM E-681 / EU A11), non-ozone-depleting, VOC-exempt (U.S. EPA) and offer cost-effective alternatives to HCFCs, HFCs, and other blowing agents.

Anticipating global regulatory and industry initiatives, we work closely with our customers to prepare solutions to meet anticipated climate change regulations. We offer ultra-low GWP Solstice product solutions including blowing agents, refrigerant gases, solvents and aerosols.
