Solstice Propellant for Aerosols
We’ve created the first new aerosol propellant in 20 years – one that may replace HFC-134a, with negligible impact on global warming. Calculate the savings when you switch.

Honeywell Solstice Propellant HFO-1234ze(E) may be used in various aerosol applications including:

  • Personal Care Products
  • Pressure Dusters
  • Freezer Sprays
  • Lubricants and Cleaners
  • Specialized Insecticides
  • Novelty Aerosols
  • Warning Systems
  • Marine Navigation
  • Household Care Products

With performance similar to HFC-134a, HFO-1234ze(E) is a near drop-in replacement, with only minimal changes required to formulations and equipment. Learn more about replacing your existing propellants with Solstice Propellant. Or request a sample today.

Solstice Propellant is non-flammable and one of Honeywell´s innovative low-GWP products based on hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) technology.

With a global warming potential (GWP) of less than one, it reduces CO2 equivalent emissions by 99.9% compared to HFC-134a and is well below the threshold of 150 set by the European F-Gas regulation. It also has extremely low photochemical reactivity in the atmosphere and does not materially contribute to ground-level smog.

Solstice Propellant is easy to implement, with minimal changeover requirements to formulations, storage or filling equipment. Solstice Propellant offers good thermal and hydrolytic stability and is compatible with many common plastics and elastomers. It is miscible with other propellants and many commonly-used solvents.
